Private signing links
Each recipient gets their own signing link. They can follow it to review and sign without creating a Linequill account.
See the signing workflowClear controls for access, a deliberate signing process, and a record you can keep. Here’s how Linequill supports each part.
Document access follows your workspace permissions and the private invitations you send.

See the signing workflowRoles control who can view requests, prepare documents, or manage the workspace. Document files are served through access-controlled routes, not a public uploads folder.
Uploaded files go through malware screening before processing. If that screening is unavailable, the upload is blocked rather than accepted unchecked.
HTTPS protects the connection between your browser and Linequill. Stored document files use AES-256-GCM encryption, and server backups are encrypted separately.
Start with a private signing link, then add phone verification or an ID barcode check. Your workspace policy sets the available choices and minimum requirements.
The signer opens their private invitation, agrees to the electronic signing statements, reviews the document, and signs. There is no separate email or SMS code, keeping the process simple for routine requests.
Adds a one-time code sent to the mobile number you provide for the signer. They enter that code before proceeding. This confirms access to that phone number, with short-lived codes and limits on retries.
Adds an ID barcode check after SMS verification. The signer uses their camera or selects a photo of a supported US or Canadian driver’s license barcode. The check compares the first and last name with the invitation and checks the expiry date.
Use an authenticator app to add a second step to your account login. System administrator accounts require two-factor authentication.
After verifying a code, you can remember that browser for 30 days. You still need your password. New browsers ask for a code.
You can forget remembered browsers from your two-factor settings. Password or authenticator changes invalidate saved browser trust.
A workspace owner must approve in-app support access. Approved sessions last 30 minutes, begin read-only, and are logged. Owners can revoke access and must separately allow draft or template edits.
Preparing, reviewing, and completing a request each contribute to its signing record.
The signing process asks recipients to review the document and confirm their agreement to the signing statements. Additional verification depends on the request’s settings.
The completion record includes recipient details, signing times, consent information, and recorded activity. These details provide context alongside the completed document.
Linequill applies a cryptographic document seal to completed PDFs to help detect later changes. The document seal and the recipient’s signing information are separate parts of the record.
A private link provides access to the recipient’s signing request. Possession of a link alone does not independently verify a person’s identity. Additional verification depends on the controls required for that request.
Workspace permissions and private invitations govern document access. In-app support requires owner approval. Infrastructure administrators can technically access documents and server-managed encryption keys; this is not end-to-end encryption or a customer-managed key service.
Documents are retained until a deletion request is reviewed. Signing-link expiry does not delete documents. Contact support about deletion or account closure, and download your records first.
No. Requests can use Standard, SMS verification, or Enhanced identity, depending on workspace policy. Compare the three signing security options and let recipients know what to expect before sending.
Yes. Completed documents can be downloaded and kept with your own records. Workspace owners and administrators can also download a ZIP of documents, activity records, and checksums from Settings > Data & access, or export an individual request. Download and check your records before requesting account closure. Our PDF signing guide walks through preparing, sending, and following a request through completion.
Open Account settings, then Two-factor authentication. You can connect an authenticator, replace recovery codes, and forget remembered browsers there. On shared devices, leave the remember-browser option unchecked.
